Lead: The Ranch -  Full Time, Winter Seasonal - Beaver Creek, CO

The drama of rock and sky, the sheer grandeur of this place, is one reason. That it is North America's World Cup mountain is another. It is also a place of intimacy. A private resort hidden from view, with the power to bring people together.

 

The Mountain Dining Lead position is an introductory role into leadership to progress towards supervisory and management positions. The Lead will learn all aspects of cash handling and closing procedures as well as create daily business plans and lead the crew under the supervisor and management's scope.  The Lead will also be responsibile for maintaining a clean and neat workplace and dining room area.

 

The Mountain Dining Lead is responsible for providing an entrepreneurial spirit and personality in the operations by bringing organizational skills, leadership and a warm front door presence to the facility.  The goal is to operate the highest quality dining experience while still achieving profitability goals.  Daily responsibilities will include managing the daily operations, performing opening and closing cash procedures of The Ranch, ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining a clean and safe work and dining environment.  This position may require that the employee use a knife, slicer, ovens, steam tables or any other piece of kitchen equipment as required. Additional responsibilities may include: stocking, maintaining and cleaning service area, selling and preparing food items as requested by guests, communicating with kitchen to ensure that area is fresh and full, and assisting with moving ski racks daily.  All employees are charged with the responsibility to follow all rules and policies of the facility they are employed and Vail Resorts Inc.  Other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must successfully complete a background check - required
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • Ability to speak, read and communicate clearly in English - required
  • Must enjoy working with children - Kid focused environment - required
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year
  • Must have previous cash handling experience
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have proven strong leadership skills
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours
  • Must be able to learn and practice all rules and regulations of Safety and Sanitation
  • Certified non-slip shoes required to begin work
  • End of Season Commitment Required (April 2015) - required
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays - required
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in customer service and food and beverage industry - preferred
