Nestled at the base of Vail Mountain, in the heart of the renowned Vail Village, The Lodge at Vail combines a perfect location and exemplary service with the famously classic ambiance of an alpine-inspired Vail resort. The F&B Steward is responsible for the cleaning of all kitchens to include; restaurant equipment, kitchen equipment, vents, floors, drains, walls and bathrooms. Washes, and properly racks, all china, glass, silver, pots and culinary utensils. Assists Chefs, in receiving items and properly storing them. Ensures that all kitchen areas are kept clean, neat and well stocked. Keeps hallways free of obstructions, floors swept and scrubed, clean/dry and responsible for frequent trash removal. Responsible for the operation of dishwasher. Provides all banquet/catered functions with the necessary equipment, based on the BEOs, for each function. Assists with resort recycling efforts by ensuring all items are properly sorted in a neat and orderly manner.
The steward will work in a hot steamy environment and is also responsible for cleaning the employee dining room, as well as in-depth cleaning of all walk-in freezers and refrigerators, ovens, stoves and pantries. Other duties as required.
Work extensive hours based on business volume.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. -required
- Must maintain a clean and safe work station. -required
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours. -required
- Must be able to work weekends and Holidays. -required
- Must be able to communicate in English. -required
- Must love to snowboard, ski, bike, hike or just enjoy the Colorado summer. A balance of work and personal life is key. -required
- Previous kitchen experience. -preferred
- High School Diploma. -preferred
- Spanish Language skills. -preferred
