This is a seasonal position. It is full time. This individual is career oriented, creative, active, and a culinary leader with general leadership qualities, able to work unsupervised and manage a kitchen in the Chef's absence. Job responsibilities include:
- Adheres to Vail Resorts Culinary Guidelines, Goals and Standards
- Maintains and upholds standards: good personal hygiene, safe food handling, and advanced culinary skills.
- Understands the importance of standards, speed, quality and kitchen science
- Demonstrates advanced culinary skill sets. knife skills, banquet service,
- Ensures entire outlet operates under HACCP guidelines and adheres to Serve Safe Culinary Guidelines.
- Checks quality daily of all food served and produced.
- This person is either a graduate of a two year Culinary program with three years’ post graduate quality experience, or has at least five years experience in quality establishments
- Must be able to work to end of season commitment date
- Prepares food to the specification of the Chef
- Assist in food ordering
- Assist in the direction and supervision of staff
- End of Month Responsibilities: Assist with taking and extending physical inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to communicate English
- Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
- 2 years restaurant experience - Required
- 1 year supervisory experience - Preferred
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
