POSITION SUMMARY Quality Inspector performs routine inspection on structural and mechanical assemblies/subassemblies, and detail parts. Personnel are also capable of supporting peripheral responsibilities as defined by quality management. Essential Job Responsibilities Obtain engineering specification for any given assembly/subassembly and detail part. Verify engineering specification for any given assembly/subassembly and detail part. Verify all operations of a production work order have been completed per engineering requirements. Create and disposition NCMR within the ERP system. Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9012. Required Skills/Competencies Must be able to verify distinguish pass/fail characteristics of close tolerance holes and basic fastener installation requirements. Must be able to properly use calipers, micrometers, depth gages, height gage, radius gages, countersink gages, scale and pin pages. Must be able to interpret 2D blueprints, technical specifications, inspection documents, and written/verbal instructions. Must be able to inspect operations performed and recognize defects as dictated by IP/engineering requirements. Must be able to maintain and update any required training. Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment. Must have focus on quality and have a clear understanding of risk escapement and potential impact to product. Must be authorized to work in the United States. International Traffic in Arms Regulation/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance is required. Knowledge and understanding of QMS processes and standards. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to use Microsoft Office and associated programs proficiently. Education Required High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role. Experience Required Previous experience preferred. Physical/Work Requirements Plant Ability to sit for extended periods, working at a desk and/or attending meetings. Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area in order to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others. Noise level in the work environment ranges from quite to loud. Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor. Office Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk working and/or attending meetings with periodic breaks. Must be able to move throughout the office and/or manufacturing area and talk, hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers and others. May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. Work Environment: Normal work environment is a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
