Company Summary
Valentine & Associates is an independent fire investigation and forensic sciences firm that is seeking experienced and qualified fire investigators to join our team throughout the State of Illinois.
Application Requirements
· Must possess a valid CFEI certification through NAFI or CFI through IAAI.
· Must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a Private Investigator License in the state in which they are assigned within 60 days of employment (if applicable).
· Must be familiar with NFPA 921 and 1033
· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the firm’s guidelines.
· Must be willing to travel and/or work a flexible schedule during periods of peak demand.
Application Preferences
· Possess valid NAFI-CVFI, IAAI-CFI(V) and/or IAAI-FIT
· Previous experience in subrogation and insurance claims for fire loss’
· Previous expert testimony or deposition experience highly preferred but not required.
· Degree or some college coursework is preferred but not required.
· “Hands on/In the field” experience working in the public and/or private sectors performing origin and cause investigations on residential and commercial structures.
· Experience with writing detailed reports.
· Experience with Microsoft Office applications/programs
