What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychometrist position at Valley MedPsych?
Valley MedPsych is seeking one psychometrist to join our team in neuropsychological testing in a busy private practice in Fishersville, Virginia. Our practice serves adults across the age spectrum for a broad range of referrals for differential diagnosis and clarification of treatment/rehabilitative needs for conditions such as concussion/TBI, cerebrovascular disease, memory loss/neurodegenerative conditions, ADHD, and other cognitive questions and concerns (such as clarification of intellectual disability issues).
Under general supervision, the psychometrist will be responsible for: utilizing approved methods and techniques in standardized administration of neuropsychological and psychological measures, standardized scoring of these measures in accordance with generally accepted normative data and methods, input results in a data summary table, completing behavioral observations, assists in training of any new psychometrists or practicum students, and maintaining records and complete documentation as necessary for each patient. Additionally, greeting patients, reviewing intake paperwork, and maintaining HIPAA compliant security of test data. Training of administration and scoring of a number of neuropsychological and psychological assessments as well as HIPAA compliance training will be included in the initial two months of employment at a training rate. While hours are generally dependent on patients being present for testing, additional hours may be available with assisting our office manager to reach full time hours. Additionally, the psychometrist would provide support in answering the phone and coordinating with patients at times. Qualifications must include a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field, as well as good patient rapport building skills, attention to detail, basic computer literacy, good communication skills, and good organizational skills. Compensation is competitive at $20 per hour after a probationary and training period of $15 per hour, which would be expected to last for about two months dependent on reaching mastery of administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological assessments. While this is a part-time job, hours could be available for three to four days per week with opportunity for more hours in administrative support. Additionally, a group meeting will be held on one Friday per month with breakfast or lunch provided.
