What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bradford Recovery Specialist position at Valley Vista?
Summary of Position:
The Recovery Specialist is a direct service provider responsible for implementing program guidelines and practice regarding patient safety, unit and individual behavioral expectations, and a therapeutic milieu within a unit patient care model. Provides care in a manner consistent with facility philosophy and practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and maintains professional interpersonal relationships with patients at Valley Vista.
Reviews notes and appropriate documentation on each patient on a daily basis, helping to ensure continuity and compliance with treatment planning and service delivery.
Documents patient activity as required by Valley Vista and regulatory agencies.
Observes patient behavior, records observations as appropriate, and reports at risk behaviors to senior staff on duty, as appropriate.
Communicates patient behaviors/concerns to subsequent shift and unit Director when appropriate.
Participates in change-of-shift treatment team meetings and discusses patients emotional/behavioral issues/concerns, and related programming needs.
Makes oneself available for crisis intervention or unit reassignment as necessary and follows agencys policy/procedure for crisis intervention.
Assists Nursing staff while dispensing medication to patients.
Attends and monitors meals with patients at the appropriate times.
Safely transports patients to all scheduled outside appointments using company vehicles as directed.
Participates in supervision and in-service opportunities at the direction of the Clinical Manager and/or Program Director.
Provides staff coverage throughout the course of the shift, remaining in service until replacement arrives.
Conducts multiple room checks in all patients rooms throughout the duration of shift as appropriate, and documents accordingly.
Attends in-service programs designated by Program Director.
Follows patient procedures designated by Program Director.
Is current with all required trainings.
Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
21 years of age or older; One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
Timeliness and completeness of required documentation.
Follows organizations attendance and punctuality policies.
Can work as a member of a team.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper boundaries with patients
Strong time management
Compassion and understanding of patients needs and situations.
