Key Responsibilities

  • High frequency of heavy lifting (maximum weight 50lbs)
  • High frequency of gripping/reaching
  • Manual dexterity is highly necessary
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple on-going tasks
  • Must be able to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • General maintenance laborer (cleaning machines during PM’s, changing filters, cleaning dust collectors, pulling wire)
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on CNC machining centers
  • Other maintenance functions as directed
  • General building maintenance (basic plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping)
  • General equipment maintenance (basic trouble shooting, replacing defective components, working on and around industrial equipment)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical supply circuits up to 230V 3 phase, including fuse/ breaker replacement, termination points and electrical switchgear
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical control circuits
  • Troubleshoot and repair/replace single phase, three phase and DC motors up to 230V
  • Basic conduit bending and installation (EMT, PVC, BX cable)
  • Knowledge of basic electrical wire sizing and number of conductor calculations
  • Intermediate knowledge of compressed air and hydraulic systems
  • Application of general construction and fabrication skills (carpentry, Plumbing, roofing)
  • Application of general fabrication skills (MiG welding, manual machining, sheet metal bending)
  • Ability to read/interpret advanced technical manuals and assembly instructions
  • Ability to read/interpret basic electrical schematics and one-line electrical drawings
  • Knowledge in use of common electrical test equipment (multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters)
  • Use of precision measuring equipment (calipers, ID/OD micrometers, etc.)
  • Ability to oversee outside contractors working on Valor property
  • Install and program intuitive PLC modules
  • Provide level I skills mentoring and training
  • Intermediate level computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Qualification in advanced CMMS software use
  • Daily use of intermediate math skills (algebra, geometry)
  • Daily use of intermediate mechanical skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must pass background check and appropriate drug testing
  • Must meet and maintain Valor attendance requirements
  • English proficiency
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-year college degree in mechanical or engineering related field or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and qualified motor vehicle record
  • 4 years’ experience working in the industrial maintenance field or repair of machinery, automotive, or aviation equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment
  • Manual machining experience
  • Electrical apprenticeship or residential wireman experience
