Job Description
Perry Memorial Library is seeking a candidate to perform clerical and paraprofessional support duties for Perry Memorial Library serving Vance County and the City of Henderson. Work may include creating library accounts, assisting patrons with their accounts, checking out materials, assisting in locating print and non-print materials, assisting with printing and other computer-related difficulties, answering basic reference questions, and providing reader"s advisory. The employee must be able to access and search our catalog, the internet, and our website to retrieve information. An employee in this position is also responsible for shelving materials and maintaining shelf order, which includes straightening material on the shelves to ensure that they are neat and accessible, and shelf reading to ensure materials are in the correct locations on the shelves. The work requires employees to be tactful and courteous in dealing with the patrons of the Library. Weekend and evening hours are required. Work is evaluated through observation, conferences, patron feedback, and annual performance evaluation. Additional Information
