What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bagger Operator position at Vanderbilt Minerals?
1. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe proper PPE procedures at all times.
2. Select proper product bags and pallets for various customer orders upon review of daily packaging orders.
3. Stencil customer info, material codes, & lot #’s per customer order instructions.
4. Operate bagging equipment per routine operating procedures.
5. Manually stack 50 pound bags on pallets for customer orders in a repetitive, fairly swift manner.
6. Operate pallet stretch wrap machine per routine operating procedures.
7. Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition and maintain consistent product flow to filling station.
8. Responsible for basic troubleshooting of packaging operation and communicates work orders as needed to maintenance personnel.
9. Operate forklift to move bagged product on pallets from the stacking station to the stretchwrap machine to the finished goods warehouse.
10. Notify supervisor of problems that disrupt packaging in a timely manner.
11. Perform any other assigned miscellaneous duties as needed.
Experience
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
3. Prefer previous forklift operating experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
4. Strong team player.
5. Ability to interpret work instructions and fill out associated paperwork.
6. Must be capable of working in temperature extremes and manually stacking 50 pound bags for periods up to one hour possibly 3-5 times per day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.75 per hour
