Executive Surety Underwriter

Responsibilities:

• Proactively manages service and retention of larger accounts
• Builds and maintains strong client and acarrier relationships
• Develops and underwrites a profitable portfolio of surety business
• Evaluates and underwrites complex risks by assessing their financial health, credit history and overall business stability
• Actively markets Varney insurance, health, and benefits products to existing clients
• Actively markets surety products for new business clients

Qualifications:

• 5 years of Underwriting experience in insurance products required
• High proficiency in contract surety insurance coverage knowledge, risk evaluation, and pricing
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make risk decisions; familiarity with credit required
• Ability to travel throughout New England is required
• Position is onsite in Scarborough, Maine with limited WFH opporunity
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent surety experience required
• AFSB or CIC preferred
