What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Veterinary Technician position at VCA?
VCA Chanhassen Animal Hospital technician team is growing, and we are looking for a team orientated Certified Veterinary Technician!
Our hospital has been serving the Chanhassen community since the 1970's. We are an AAHA accredited practice and believe in providing the best possible care for our patients.
Animals We See: Birds, Cats, Dogs, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Mice, Rabbits, Reptiles, Turtles, ZooMED.
Overall Responsibility: Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients.
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
- Venipuncture and IVC placement
- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
- Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
- Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
- Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
- Surgical preparation and assisting.
- Anesthesia monitoring.
- Dentistry and dental radiographs
- Diagnostic imaging (radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds)
Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time opportunities available. Schedule is four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturday’s. Not looking to be scheduled for 40 hours? No problem! Our leadership team believes in work-life balance and will work with your schedule.

Salary : $31,600 - $40,100
