Description:

Summary:

Under general supervision of the Department Manager, the Assistant Production Supervisor will provide English/Spanish translation and interpretation for the department Supervisors and Manager. This position will be responsible for the distribution of most communication needs within the department, to include phone, email, text and other written and verbal forms of communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be able to perform interpreting and translation duties from English to Spanish, and Spanish to English in a professional manner
  • Responsible for listening to, understanding and translating spoken or written documents
  • Respond to text messages and emails
  • Manage paperwork from different areas.
  • Assist Manager and supervisors with the assignment of work to other employees
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective Computer Skills
  • Must demonstrate Problem solving skills and have the ability to multitask
  • Dependable, regular attendance is required
  • Willing to learn and a team player

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma.

Language Ability:

Ability to speak, read and understand English. Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in standard and metric units.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment in order to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to work both hot and cold temperatures.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, although work in high noise areas may be required.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete and climb.
