Job Description
Job Summary:
- Provides technical electrician and electronic repair skills to ensure the efficient installation and maintenance of the various electrical and/or electronic equipment, devices, and circuitry, required to operate the various facilities throughout the project sites. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. All tools are provided and a dedicated electrical department van will also be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day maintenance of system equipment including motors, VFD’s, emergency generators, MCC wiring and local control systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance work orders on electrical equipment as generated by the computerized maintenance management system.
- Work in coordination with mechanical and operation staff to isolate and de-energize equipment.
- Perform installation of new conduit, control panels and wiring for system retrofits and repairs.
- Conduct troubleshooting of electrical system issues as identified by operations and maintenance staff.
- Other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
- 5 years experience as a Journeyman or Master electrician working in an industrial facility.
- Experience working in a Water or Wastewater Treatment Facility prefered.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals and written instructions, complex wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical materials
- Knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry and knowledge of treatment
- Knowledge and experience working on voltages up to 480V and coordination of subcontractors for work on voltages up to 14.4kV.
- Ability to read drawings and schematics to conduct troubleshooting.
- Ability to participate in rotating maintenance on-call schedules.
- Coordination of projects including safe work planning, parts list development and resource allocation.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
- Valid State of CT (or equivalent) Electrical License.
