What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dermatology Medical Assistant position at Vera Dermatology?
Vera Dermatology is seeking a medical assistant to join our boutique dermatology practice. You will be working side-by-side with a board-certified dermatologist and physician assistants in providing medical, cosmetic, and surgical care to our patients. This position is perfect for those seeking more hands-on patient care. No experience needed! We are more than willing to train you in all aspects of dermatology and mentor you to reach your future goals. Many successful employees have continued on to medical school, PA school, and nursing school.
Openings are available for full time Mondays - Fridays 9am-5pm at our new Tustin office. Training will take place in our other offices for the first 1-2 months based on experience.
Roles:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, obtain health forms and insurance cards.
- Answer patient calls including scheduling appointments and triaging patient questions.
- Obtain insurance authorizations and check insurance coverage benefits.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and ask about their chief complaint and history, recording in to the electronic health record.
- First assist in procedures including biopsies and excisions.
- Autoclave surgical equipment and clean patient rooms.
- Scribe for providers and record the physical exam findings, assessment, and plan.
- Participate in team meetings and educational sessions.
Requirements:
- Minimum associates degree.
- Bilingual in Vietnamese or Spanish required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and time-management skills.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly manner.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
