Overview -
If you are passionate about taxes, this is the job for you! We are looking for someone to join our management team who has experience in the tax industry and who loves to help others. This is a permanent position working full time during the tax season (January – April) and part time the rest of the year.
Responsibilities -
Our Tax Preparers Conduct a thorough in-person interview with potential clients, using Drake tax software. They deliver exceptional customer service by anticipating customer needs and considering the impact of all decisions/actions on the customer.
- Complete all related tax forms in accordance with policies, and IRS legislation and regulations. Furnishes taxpayers with sufficient information to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Consult tax law reference materials to determine procedures for preparation of a typical return.
- Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
- Resolve client complaints or refers situations to supervisor (as appropriate) for resolution.
- Audit all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (i.e., client signatures).
- Participate in call campaigns and other marketing activities.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements -
- High School Degree., some college preferred.
- Must have experience preparing taxes.
- Experience using Drake Software is a plus.
- Must have a current PTIN or can register for a current PTIN.
- Good communication, leadership, interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Advanced knowledge of computer functions required.
- Top candidates for this position will have retail experience providing exceptional customer service and performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced working environment.
- Compliance with company policies and standards.
Job Type: 15 – 25 hours per week during the off season, and up to 40 hours per week from January through April.
Spanish Speaking preferred but not required.
Salary: $14.00 to $20.00 /hour DOE (paid as a base plus commission)
Experience: MUST have prior experience working in a tax office preparing taxes.
