We are the statewide association of ATV clubs dedicated to developing, promoting and conserving responsible, family friendly ATV recreation throughout the state. We currently have over 1200 miles of legal trail opportunity throughout the state..
Position Expectations
Executive Leadership
- Provide executive leadership for optimal implementation of VASA policies and bylaws.
- Actively engage and energize VASA staff, volunteers, board members, committees and partnering organizations while demonstrating strong team-building skills.
- Serve as professional advisor to the Board of Directors.
- Lead, develop, and implement administrative programs, policies, and processes to translate mission into concrete action items. Develop solutions to identified problems and evaluate success.
- Participate in strategic planning and prioritize implementation to achieve goals consistent with mission.
Communication/Representation
- Responsible for public relations and promotion of Association.
- Meet with Association membership upon request and help formulate new members/clubs.
- Participate and assist in conducting Annual Meeting, Special or Directors Meetings
- Serve as primary liaison between Association and governmental agencies, partnering organizations and other trail user groups.
- Communicates well in person and in writing.
- Maintain a seat on any boards deemed to be beneficial to the development of VASA.
General/Budget Administration
- Recommend and implement appropriate policies, assist, maintain, and update policies, Operational and Strategic Plans.
- Develop and present budget annually to Board of Directors for approval.
- Provide financial oversight, management, and authorize all expenditures and report any budget issues.
Personnel Administration/Staff Development
- Manage the administrative office, including hiring, terminating, directing, counseling, and recommendation of pay levels.
- Provide an annual performance evaluation of all employees.
- Encourage the personal and professional development of staff.
- Assume as required, the duties and responsibilities of any staff during any temporary absences.
Technology
- Ensure that technology is optimized.
Information/Records Management
- Ensure all records for the Association are kept.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- Skill in strategic planning, business planning, plan implementation and evaluation, program development and project management.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulatory requirements related to recreational trail development.

Experience
- Five years of related experience in a non-for-profit membership association preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including supervision of professional and administrative staff, delegating tasks, and maintaining an effective working environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effect change.
- Strong presentation skills to present to diverse groups.
- ATV experience preferred, but not required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
