What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at VERSAR, INC.?
The Procurement Specialist will perform invoicing duties as contract support in a warehouse setting at the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) site in Durham, NC. This role requires maintaining communication with vendors to ensure correctness and completeness of invoice submittal to the internal accounts payable team. This position reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in verifying invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with accounts payable to process invoices for payment in a timely manner, resolving any discrepancies or issues as needed.
- Maintain records of invoice payments and update financial systems or databases accordingly.
- Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving any discrepancies or outstanding balance.
- Support other logistics and procurement-related duties as directed by management
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly
- Familiar with invoicing process
- Able to perform work with minimal supervision
- Familiar with basic computer concepts
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must have transportation to and from Company office in Durham, NC.
- Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Ability to obtain facility/site security and access credentials.
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in procurement (practical and/or strategic)
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Nuvolo computer system
