This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with regular in-office collaboration at our Chicago location. Workweeks range from 40–50 hours depending on task efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to sound accounting practices
- Prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage banking activity, including deposits and payments
- Review and reconcile corporate credit card activity
- Process vendor payments, subcontractor compensation, and consultant disbursements
- Assist with internal and external audits, resolving discrepancies and maintaining compliance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancements
- Prepare supporting documentation for auditors and leadership
- Prepare commission pay detail for various company revenue types
Payroll Support
- Process payroll in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
- Maintain employee timekeeping, benefits enrollment, and personnel data
- Support employee onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Partner with department leads to ensure smooth communication and support across teams
Qualifications
- 3 years of accounting or payroll experience or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field
- Proficient with QuickBooks and Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent attention to detail with a process- and deadline-oriented mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Prior experience in a professional services or wealth management environment is a plus
