Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Job Description:
Provides engineering to support and improve processes in the manufacturing of carbon composite turbine blades for ongoing and new operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design methods and collaborate on ideas for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.
Work closely with production staff to meet production plan.
- Troubleshoot process problems and identify solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.
- Monitor process equipment to identify potential errors and develop solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.
- Design and conduct plant trials to determine performance capabilities.
- Develop and update process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.
- Understand and handle various Production Support Systems
- Determine the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.
- Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.
- Provide extensive support to production during introduction of new products, materials and technology, systematic preventive maintenance.
- Monitor and reduce downtime.
- Monitor and reduce process and product variations.
- Start-up and participate in improvement projects.
- Start-up and participate in capacity expansions/conversions.
- Follow budgets and submits investment requests regarding the purchasing of new equipment/materials.
- Assign asset numbers for new equipment.
- Take ownership of assigned area
- Establish OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)
- Initiate maintenance setup analyses, continuous improvement with equipment and to setup maintenance schedules
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting
- Front line support for programming and troubleshooting both robotic & automated equipment/machines.
- Identify PTS (Process Technical Specifications) or instructions when buying new equipment.
- Interpret PII (Process Instructions) and PWI (Process Work Instructions)
- Work with BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Implement Takt time planning.
- Work with revision-controlled documentation structures
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Engineer Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, or Manufacturing/Industrial with a broad understanding of Electrical and Chemical preferred and up to 10 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CAD drafting capability (SolidWorks / AutoCAD)
Competencies:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, knowledge of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft programs
