JOB DESCRIPTION:
An Occupational Therapist helps patients with physical impairments develop, regain or maintain their ability to perform daily activities through varying skills and techniques or using adaptive equipment. STARTING SALARY: $64,350 - $72,150 ***Depending on experience***
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
- Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
- Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and primary mental health and evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding the patient.
- Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American - Occupational Therapy Association).
- Current OT license in NYS - required
- Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients.
- Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
- Experience in long-term care - preferred
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
