Job Summary: Vet Stop Animal Hospital is a small animal veterinary practice whose focus is on preventative/wellness care. This includes immunizations, preventative screenings, and spay and neuter procedures. Vet Stop Animal Hospital also performs diagnostic and treatment services. This includes diagnostic bloodwork, radiographs, and urinalysis. This is followed by appropriate treatment plans based on results of said diagnostic services.
Vet Stop Animal Hospital prides itself on providing care for our patients in every aspect of pet ownership; this includes boarding and daycare services. These services would not be possible without a strong Kennel Attendant team.
Job Responsibilities: Lodge Attendants employed by Vet Stop Animal Hospital are responsible for the following:
- Care for boarding and daycare patients
- Intake and discharge of daycare/boarding patients
- Feeding and watering appropriately
- Providing playtime and potty walks for patients per protocol
- Administering medications as directed by the veterinary staff
- Annotate and alert veterinary staff to any patient health/behavioral concerns
Job Requirements: Lodge Attendants employed by Vet Stop Animal Hospital is often a behind-the-scenes position; however, Vet Stop Animal Hospital heavily relies on the position to function smoothly. Skills required of the Lodge Staff staff include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Must be 16 years old
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to be on feet/bend/squat/stand up/sit down for up to 4 hours at a time
- Willingness to cross-train on other positions with the Company
- Must be able to effectively communicate with the Client
- Willingness to work with both cats and dogs
- Must have a clear understanding of animal behavior and be able to work with a variety of patient demeanors
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and the Veterinarian
- Must have basic computer and multi-line phone skills
