Job Summary
As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing medical care to a variety of animals, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and performing surgeries when necessary. You will work closely with pet owners to educate them on proper animal care and treatment options.
Duties
- Conduct physical examinations on animals to diagnose health issues
- Perform medical procedures including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and dental work
- Prescribe medication and recommend treatment plans
- Perform surgeries as needed
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine
- Strong knowledge of veterinary critical care and animal anatomy
- Experience in laboratory work and aseptic technique
- Proficiency in dog handling, training, grooming, and pet care
- Familiarity with kennel operations and practice management is a plus
