Veterinary Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality care for animals, supporting veterinarians and technicians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and kennels
- Monitor and feed boarding patients
- Administer medications under the direction of veterinarians
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks
- Perform animal catheterization when necessary
- Provide support in equine care if required
Skills:
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Understanding of animal physiology and behavior
- Experience in dog handling and pet grooming is advantageous
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices
- Ability to handle various species with patience and empathy
- Strong communication skills for interactions with team members and pet owners
Requirements:
- Certification or training as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is a plus
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
