Lead Medical Technologist - Microbiology

We are looking for an outstanding Lead Microbiology Medical Technologist/Lab Technician to join our dynamic hospital. The Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for performing all procedures on a rotation basis in the clinical department on a diverse age population. Responsible to comply with and enforce all safety and infection control policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsible for Supervisory activities when Division Head is absent or in need of assistance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required and/or completion of training in Medical Technology required.
- Minimum of five years experience in Microbiology.
- Two years of Supervisory experience required.
- MT(ASCP)Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Same responsibilities and tasks as Medical Technologist.
- Performs bench work in all areas of clinical department.
- Acts as liaison between Medical Technologists and Division Head.
- Keeps clinical department personnel informed of Laboratory policies.
- Assumes the responsibility of the Division Head when the latter is absent.
- Maintains checks on daily quality control and preventative maintenance.
- Is able to perform all tests within clinical department accurately and precisely.
- Handles technical matters within the clinical department.
- Assists in performing administrative work related to the clinical department, i.e. budget projections, capital equipment purchases, etc.
