Patient Safety Technician, Emergency Department
Creating the best outcomes for our patients requires the right people. As VHC Health continues to grow, we are looking for a Patient Safety Technician to join our team! The Patient Safety Technician works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the health care team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Safety Technician performs a variety of routine duties. Patient Safety Technicians must be empathetic and have good communication and skills to care for patients.
The Emergency Department (ED) is a 36-bed unit that helps treat a variety of medical conditions for patients of all ages. Becoming a designated Level II Trauma Center is one of their most recent accomplishments which has allowed VHC to provide emergency care to the Arlington community and surrounding areas. The ED team is unique because they are able to evaluate and provide care including complex trauma, stroke and STEMI to any patient. In addition, all team members are specialized in the evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of both minor and complex injuries and illnesses.

Qualifications
- High school graduate required.
- Previous Customer Service experience preferred.
- Behavioral Health experience preferred.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care for assigned patients.
- Identify patient care needs by building rapport with the patient and/or family.
- Observe changes in the status of patients.
- Maintain the safety of patients who are confused, at high risk for falls, or require one-to-one observation.
- Provide a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with department tasks as needed, transporting patients, unit secretary tasks and other related duties.
- Must be empathetic and have great communication.
