Associate Veterinarian - Alexandria, VA

VCA Old Town Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our AAHA-accredited small animal practice located in the beautiful city of Old Town Alexandria, VA. We welcome newly graduated veterinarians (and current veterinary students) to apply to this position where they will receive individualized support with our 9-month mentorship program and a collaborative hospital team environment. We have been serving the community since the 1980’s and joined the VCA group of hospitals in 1998. We are a busy five doctor general practice that offers primary, preventative and advance patient care as well as surgery. Some of the specialties that we offer include ultrasound, integrative pain management and therapy, as well as pocket pet and exotic care. Our hospital is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday. We are looking for a full-time doctor who can work 4 weekdays and alternate Saturdays with no after-hours on-call responsibilities. We are currently looking for a full time associate veterinarian to join our existing team. We are looking for someone who practices superior customer service and patient care; someone who is empathetic, passionate, hungry to grow, a good communicator and is willing to go above and beyond to help our patients and their owners. An interest in exotics and/or physical therapy would be a plus, as this is an area in which our hospital would like to develop. We are conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria, which allows easy access to all of the historic attractions of Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. Nearby recreational activities include world class museums and several concert venues. Washington DC is home to several national sports teams: the Washington Capitals, the Washington Nationals and the Washington Football Team.
