Veterinary Technician

Welcome to VCA West Suburban Veterinary Hospital! We are a full-service medical facility offering general wellness, hospitalization, urgent care, advanced surgical services including orthopedics, laparoscopy, dentistry, surgical laser, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, stem cell therapy as well as Exotic and Avian care. Our technician team is growing, and we are looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team! We Care For: We care for dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles, birds, and other exotic pets. Overall Responsibility: Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Our Emergency Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures. Venipuncture and IVC placement. Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc. Anesthesia monitoring. Surgical preparation and assisting. Dentistry and dental radiographs Diagnostic imaging (radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds) Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team. Recognize subtle change in clinical status. Complete estimates, basic record keeping, discharges. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field.
