Qualifications

VNE, LLC is looking for a Secret Cleared Software Engineer III

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
  • Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years with Masters or 14 years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
  • Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Secret Level Clearance required.

Job Description:

VNE is seeking a Software Engineer III to help provide program management, systems engineering, and logistics support services to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.

The Software Engineer III provides technical expertise and support in one or more of the following areas:

  • Lead the design, development, and documentation of PAI software - software that aggregates, analyzes, and fuses data from publicly available information sources and provides predictive reports, dashboards, metrics, and other customizable artifacts to end user.
  • Conduct software development in accordance with the existing Software Development Plan (SDP)
  • Develop and maintain software in accordance with the NIWC Atlantic directed Configuration Management Plan.
  • Develop and deliver software products designed in multiple programming languages to include the following software languages: Visual Basic, Visual Basic.Net (VB.NET), JSON for Visual Basic (VB-JSON), Visual Basic Scripting (VBScript), Install Shield, Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Stored Procedures JAVA, C, C , and C#, XML, PowerShell, Linux, RedHat and Python
  • Integrate software baselines using standardized integration and imaging tools to include: SPAWAR System Recovery Tool (SSRT), Workstation Configuration Center (WCC), Banner Classification Manager, Universal Windows Platform (UWP), PowerShell, Windows PE (WinPE), Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM), Windows Imaging File Format (WIM), and the Microsoft System Preparation Tool (Sysprep).
  • Develop and deliver software products utilizing Windows Communications Foundation (WCF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Visual Studio - Studio Developer Tools, Windows 10, Windows 11, Entity Framework and Windows Server 2012/2016
  • Provide software ready for delivery on CD/DVD/Blu-Ray and future digital repositories to be imported into CMPro.
  • Have expertise in the installation, administration, and maintenance of Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software applications
  • Employ Agile SCRUM methodology approach to software development, to include a defined sprint schedule, daily stand-ups, product backlog reviews, and sprint demonstrations. Priorities and schedules shall be identified, tracked, and maintained in a build plan through Government oversight.
  • Track core agile metrics such as sprint length, velocity, and task burn down rates as well as report manpower level of support and related personnel changes.
  • Perform software license management, planning, tracking, and distribution, to include associated documents and interaction with software vendors, Program Representatives, Marine Corps Software Enterprise License Management System (MCSELMS), and Marine Corps Common Hardware Suite (MCHS)
  • Have experience in the system administration of multiple operating systems to include
    • Windows Enterprise Workstation/Server/Mobile
    • Linux OS and variants
    • Cisco IOS
    • Android OS
    • Apple iOS
    • Virtual Machines (VM)
    • RedHat
    • Multiple Modeling and SIMS Environments
    • Cloud hosting environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud and Microsoft Azure
  • Provide Software Support Activity (SSA) / System Integrator (SI) services
  • Provide depot software maintenance
  • Provide information to revise the Software Product Specification (SPS) based on software implementations supporting new or modified requirements

Essential Duties of the Job:

  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be exposed to chemicals related to office equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e. general office environment).
