What are the responsibilities and job description for the Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate position at Victim Services of Cullman, AL?

Training with pay will be provided.

A background check is required

Overnight weekend shift - perfect for a Night Owls or student!

Job Responsibilities:

Works under the supervision of the Shelter Manager.

Supervises the safety and well-being of shelter residents.

Ensures clients follow shelter guidelines.

Maintains professional boundaries with clients at all times.

Maintains cleanliness, organization, and general operations of shelter.

Answers Crisis Line to provide information and referrals.

Monitors security doors and alarms to ensure client safety.

Conducts shelter intakes, room assignments, shelter orientation.

Provides supplies and assists residents as needed.

Interacts with clients on individual or group basis.

Maintains supportive and peaceful atmosphere.

Maintains confidentiality of shelter location and residents.

Participates in staff meetings and trainings.

Serves as an effective representative of Victim Services and its programs.

Must be able to remain calm and follow agency protocol at all times.

* Experience or education in Human Services or other Social Services field is considered a bonus.

*Ability to speak Spanish is a bonus.'
