The Victor Fire District is seeking a District Secretary to serve as the official Clerk to the Board of Fire Commissioners. This administrative position plays a key role in supporting the administrative functions of the Fire District, managing official records, coordinating meetings and elections, and serving as a primary point of contact for the public. The position reports to the Board and works under the direction of the District Treasurer.
Key responsibilities
· Attend and record minutes of Board meetings, public hearings, and elections
· Prepare and distribute public notices and legal publications
· Manage and retain Fire District records per New York State retention schedules
· Serve as FOIL Records Access Officer and LOSAP plan administrator
· Coordinate with vendors and handle public inquiries
Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
· Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
· Familiarity with FOIL and Open Meetings Law preferred
· Must be of good character; individuals with arson convictions are ineligible
· This position may be subject to a residency requirement
Rate of Pay
$21 - $24 per hour

Training on Fire District procedures will be provided. This is a detail-oriented position suited for someone who takes initiative, communicates effectively, and works independently as part of a small, public service focused team.
