ODR promotes hope, is person centered (for example, a “meaningful day” is de?ned by using the client’s own de?nition), offers peer support, seeks to improve relationships in the family and with others, and capitalizes on participants’ strengths. ODR also assists in reconnecting the participant to the community, setting goals, ?nding and engaging in meaningful activities, and improving environmental factors, for example, by helping to secure safe housing and improve family and community engagement in the participants’ “circles of support.”
