The Special Education Teacher Implements best practices for educating children with developmental disabilities and autism. Responsible for classroom supervision (staff and students), classroom management and organization, Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and teaching practices.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Adhere with all safety standards, regulations and policies and train staff and clients regarding safety standards as needed. Implements best practices for educating children with developmental disabilities and autism. Responsible for classroom supervision (staff and students), classroom management and organization, Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and teaching practices. Maintain a high level of professionalism and respect for others (staff, clients, management, and external parties) during all interactions. Maintain confidentiality in matters of clients, personnel and Villa Esperanza Services operations; exercise good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities. Develop, implement, and maintain an appropriate educational curriculum and daily schedule. Delegate responsibilities to Assistant Teacher and Instructional Aide(s) as appropriate. Responsible for assessment and direct instruction of children. Familiarize with each child’s educational history as recorded in his or her master file. Develop yearly goals in collaboration with parents and relevant specialists at least two weeks prior to annual IEP’s. Scheduling and assisting relevant specialists for assessment, planning, and collaborative implementation. Tracking of progress towards IEP goals on a daily and weekly basis. Data collection for all goals and target behaviors. Prepare for and attend quarterly conferences with parents to discuss child’s progress towards IEP goals. If a student, candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree with CBEST and be currently enrolled in a teacher credentialing program.
OR
If credentialed, candidate must be fully California credentialed level 1 Mild to Moderate (with AAA/Autism Added Authorization) or Level 2 Moderate to Severe.
Salary : $70,000 - $74,000
