Purpose of Position
The Youth Volleyball Instructor is responsible for assisting in coaching drills and games for children ages 8-12. Staff will help teach the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport offered by the Parks and Recreation Department. Individuals in these positions will be paid $12 per hour.
Position Accountability
General day-to-day supervision, administrative direction, and performance evaluation will be received from the Deputy Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Director.
Supervision Exercised
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Term of Employment
This position is a seasonal position. Games and practices will be held on Wednesday nights October through December and Wednesdays and Sundays January through March.The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned.

- Staff will arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled game/practice time.
- Responsible for promoting a fun atmosphere while keeping play safe and engaging.
- Keep the emphasis on skill building, fun, fitness, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in running drills and oversee practices.
- Volleyball playing background with experience in youth leadership.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Understand and communicate the fundamentals and rules of volleyball.
- Ability to stand and run for periods of time.
- Ability to move to effectively provide instruction to the participants and the other instructors.
