Seasonal Laborer- Public Works
Village of Hainesville
Individuals will learn about the maintenance of the Village’s property and assist with the repairs and construction of various projects throughout. Daily duties may include: tree trimming, tree removal, stump grinding, chipping, roadside cleanup, watering, landscaping, asphalt repairs, concrete replacement, and assisting with storm sewer repairs.
Job is labor intensive and has repetitive tasks each week. Individuals must be ready to be outside for majority of their shift and be independently driven. Work will be canceled on most rain days unless scheduled with supervisor.
Hours: 7:30am and 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. 30 minute lunch unpaid. Occasionally it will be requested to start at 7am if the job for the day requires it. Request will be asked the prior day.
Position Start: May 6th, 2024. Position will continue until October 25th depending on schedule or till employee reaches 1000 hrs in the calendar year. Interviews will start in April and decisions will be made by April 19th. 3 positions to be filled.
Salary: $17.00 per hour. No benefits are included.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Illinois Driver License, and reliable transportation.
- Must successfully pass drug and alcohol screening, criminal background and driving record check.
- Must be able to lift or carry a weight up to 80 lbs.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
