Summary

Assures the Risk Management functions are carried out in accordance with State and Federal regulations. This position reports to the Human Resources Director.
Essential Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be willing to obtain Risk Management CRMP Certification within 18months of start date.
At least two (2) years of experience in risk management, general liability, and insurance claims.

We have 13 paid holidays per year. Police Holiday is paid or comp’d at ten (10) hours for holiday except birthday which is at 8 hours. Birthday is an additional paid holiday but must be requested approved by supervisor, and taken in the same week as the birthday occurs.
Personal Leave Time
Accrues weekly from hire date at the rate depending on length of time in service. PLT may be used, paid, after six (6) months.

Essential Job Duties
- Establishes loss prevention standards and evaluates alternative approaches to address losses and exposures.
- Monitors the adjustment of liability, subrogation, and property loss issues, and develops presentations to communicate risk management policies.
- Monitors claims administration programs including insurance coverage (vehicle), claim review/processing and recovery of expenses paid relative to damage to Village property.
- Works with HR Director to negotiates insurance contracts and financing programs for general liability, and diverse multi-location properties; monitors the performance of internal and outsourced claims services and make recommendations.
- Prepare forecasts of insurance and other risk management costs for budget, benchmarking, and planning purposes
- Reviews and verifies certificates of insurance and develops standards for purchase orders, contracts, agreements, leases, special events, and other documents and agreements to insure proper coverage and/or risk transfer.
- Works in conjunction with attorney, insurance adjuster, etc. in the investigation, defense, and settlement of claims.
- May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.
- Analyzes safety protocol and accident reports to determine policy weaknesses. Makes recommendations for corrections as necessary.
- Assists in the investigation of any risk and safety area, including employment-related claims, as assigned.
- Reviews and analyzes a variety of documents including insurance invoices, insurance policies, service contracts, liability reports and medical reports. Prepares resolutions, budget proposals, claim summaries and miscellaneous reports in the performance of job duties.
