What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operations Manager position at Village Senior Care?
JOB SUMMARY
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance, housekeeping, and environmental services staff.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including HHSC Life Safety Code standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and fire drills.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, compliance logs, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.
- Manage preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facility systems.
- Oversee contracts and relationships with outside vendors and service providers.
- Collaborate with leadership to plan capital improvements, renovations, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and after-hours facility concerns.
- Lead efforts for HHSC, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory surveys and audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in plant operations, facilities management, or maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Texas HHSC Life Safety Code (LSC) policies and other healthcare facility codes and standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in computer systems and maintenance software (e.g., CMMS).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and respond to physical demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC Certification
- Experience with emergency power systems and disaster preparedness in healthcare environments.
