Here is your chance to join the Village Family! We currently have an opening for a Shop Foreman to support our Arkansas territory with facilities in Springdale and Forth Smith. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who has leadership experience. The right candidate will be a self starter who can work with limited oversight and manage the daily shop operations with staff of 4 employees and ability to travel between locations as necessary. Problem solving, accountability and decision making skills are critical.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures that scheduled maintenance and defects on all coaches and fleet vehicles are promptly assigned and completed effectively, efficiently and according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates proficiency in advanced diagnostics and repair of HVAC, air brake, body, electrical, and engine systems in an efficient manner with minimal errors.
- Assigns and prioritizes the mechanic schedules at least two days in advance.
- Expertly uses maintenance software to complete all paperwork in a timely and thorough manner.
- Manages all “on the road” mechanical coach and fleet issues.
- Reviews work orders on a weekly basis to ensure time worked and parts inventory, for scheduled and unscheduled activities, are accounted for and finalized.
- Participates in rotation on-call schedule and assists mechanics when necessary.
- Effectively communicates parts and equipment needs, monitors inventory and restock lists to parts department and ensures mechanics are communicating to the parts department as well.
- Analyzes and verifies that all defects are reported on the DVIR’s and that they are entered into maintenance software.
- Effectively manages, mentors and coaches all maintenance personnel to ensure maximum productivity, quality and accountability.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment throughout the shop.
- Coordinates scheduling body damage repair, along with replacing decals, paint, etc. (IDEAL STATE)
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
- Possesses detailed knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Strong analytical thinking skills to access situations.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
- Highly motivated and team oriented.
- Must possess a CDL, Class B license or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Must have excellent computer skills and a high level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Five years of shop experience required.
- One year of supervisor experience required, preferably in vehicle maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous motor coach experience.
- Completion of a diesel technology program from a technical school.
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Stand, sit, and squat for extended periods of time
