What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Strategy position at Vinfen?
The Director of Strategy works closely with members of the Vinfen Executive Team and service line leaders to lead Vinfen's long-term strategic planning, implement strategic initiatives, evaluate new business opportunities and develop external partnerships. The topics will span the full range of Vinfen priorities and may include Behavioral Health service expansion, partnerships with health care entities, digital innovation for service delivery and workforce development. The Director of Strategy will play a highly visible role and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with Chief Strategy Officer, coordinates Vinfen's long-term strategic planning process from research to facilitating sessions to development of annual goals and metrics.
- Leads development of strategic initiatives from inception to implementation employing a variety of tactics: cross-functional workstreams, research and data analysis.
- Actively surveys external market to stay abreast of changes and potential developments and to identifies opportunities in the areas of integrated health care, digital inclusion, and innovations in behavioral health and disability services.
- Creates business plans and presents business proposals to Vinfen leadership team.
- Leads response to procurements that represent business/service line expansions.
- Develops and maintains strong positive relationships with external parties in leadership positions in the health and human services environment.
- Manages a cross-functional team and coordinates with service line and administrative department leaders to support the development of specific opportunities, including market assessment, financial analysis, and operational requirements.
- As assigned, works on special projects and represents Vinfen in public forums including hearings, events, committees, and workgroups.
- Supervises staff as needed

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree in business, public health or public policy preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, strategy, program management, management consulting in government, human services, health care and/or management consulting.
- Experience leading organization-wide strategic planning and developing systems for implementing and tracking strategic plan outcomes.
- Confidence and adaptability to tackle complex and unstructured problems.
- Expert quantitative analysis and critical reasoning skills to structure and carry out analyses.
- Positive attitude and willingness to own all aspects of a project.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of external audiences including leadership, clinical, government and community members.
- Track record developing new programs from inception to implementation
- Demonstrated experience developing and writing winning grant applications and procurements.
- Understanding of the federal, state, local and private environments related to health care and human services in Massachusetts, Connecticut and other states.
- Experience tracking and analyzing public policies that impact human services, behavioral health and disability services.
- Must be able to successfully pass CORI, reference, employment verification and education background checks.
All new employees, interns, and volunteers within Vinfen's Massachusetts programs will be required to be fully vaccinated (14 days beyond last shot of Pfizer or Moderna or 14 days beyond receiving a Johnson and Johnson vaccine), or have received the first shot in a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) with an appointment scheduled for the second dose. A 2nd dose must be received within six weeks of hire and the first shot prior to New Employee Orientation or have an approved exemption for medical or religious reasons by the first day of employment with Vinfen.
