Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Position Title: Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Location: Greenwood, SC 29649
Duration: 16 weeks (Jan – April 2025)
Work Schedule: M-F, Exact shift and days to be determined during interview.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• The contract should provide for 4 clinical hours a week and encompass initial and follow-up visits.
• The position can be a mix of in-person and virtual services to meet clinician and student needs.
• The provider would report to the Executive Director of Health and Wholistic Support and work alongside the Directors of Health and Counseling Services.
• The position would be evaluated at the conclusion of the Spring 2025 semester to determine efficacy and benefit to the student population.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with coding standards and healthcare regulations.
• Participate in utilization management activities to optimize patient outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to hospital systems and standards for quality care delivery.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing.

To be considered for this position, you should have: [ Skills, Education, or Experience]

• Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric settings preferred; urgent care experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of coding systems related to mental health services.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to lift patients as necessary while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for patients' mental health needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $95.00 - $100.00 per hour
