Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our brand new dental practice in Daleville, Virginia. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our dental professionals, ensuring a seamless patient experience, and contributing to the success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures by preparing the treatment area and providing chair-side assistance.
- Take and develop dental x-rays (as required), maintain and sterilize instruments, and ensure proper infection control protocols are followed.
- Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and maintenance of their oral health.
- Manage and maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure dental equipment is in good working condition.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, handle billing, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Create a welcoming and comforting atmosphere for patients to alleviate any anxiety or concerns they may have.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- X-ray certification and CPR certification are required.
- Proven experience as a dental assistant is a plus, but we welcome entry-level candidates with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is advantageous.
