What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Navigator/Concierge position at Virginia Health Services?

Virginia Health Services is hiring a Resident Navigator/Concierge for The Newport Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center located in Newport News, VA.

The Resident Navigator/Concierge has the following responsibilities:

  • Greeting, assisting and directing visitors by leading them to their visitation destination.
  • Ensuring health screenings are completed for each visitor.
  • Assisting with front desk responsibilities as needed-phones, mail, deliveries, etc.
  • Drop Off/Pick Up areas monitored for distribution/pick up per policy.
  • Ensuring resident visitation guidance is being followed.
  • Coordinating & communicating the visitation schedules with residents, staff and families.
  • Ensuring proper PPE and supplies are available and being used by residents and visitors in the visitation areas.
  • Assisting residents in donning and doffing PPE.
  • Properly sanitizing visitation areas according to facility policy.
  • Contributing to projects including medical record management, telehealth, etc.
  • Performing general office duties.
  • Complying with all established policies and procedures.
  • Promoting and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors.
  • Maintain resident business files.
  • Appropriately documenting in resident's medical record; organizing and filing documents in paper and electronic medical records.
  • Completes insurance authorizations.
  • Effectively communicate with pertinent members of the multidisciplinary care team (Admissions, Administration, Social Work, Nursing, etc.).
  • Prepare resident rooms for occupancy ensuring equipment is functional, cleanliness standards are met, and the space is absent of environmental concerns.
  • Maintains a safe work environment while complying with facility policy, regulations and current infection control practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must wear appropriate PPE while on duty, when required.
  • Computer experience required Word, Excel, Zoom, Skype, & other computer software systems as it relates to the position.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret information.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to guide visitors down the hall to their desired destination, or safely push wheelchair-bound residents
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk.
