Job Description

Virginia Wesleyan University seeks an Enrollment Counselor to recruit online graduate and undergraduate students domestically and internationally. This is an in-person position based on our Virginia Beach campus, serving as the primary contact for prospective online students, guiding them through the admission process to meet enrollment goals.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for online students throughout the enrollment process
  • Serve as primary liaison to VWU's campus in Tokyo, Japan, responsible for recruitment and collaboration
  • Review online undergraduate and graduate applications and make admission decisions
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in on and off campus recruitment events
  • Interview prospective students and advise them about admission criteria, programs, and policies
  • Participate in the development and deployment of communication and marketing plans for student recruitment
  • Work collaboratively with financial aid and other campus departments to achieve enrollment targets

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required

Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in college recruitment, or related experience in business, marketing, or any field requiring relationship building and/or sales, with evidence of progressive responsibility. Experience in a small-college setting preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and high-level proficiency in database management
  • Familiarity with recruitment-related and SIS software required; CRM expertise preferred
  • Ability to meet enrollment goals and work collaboratively
  • Experience in public speaking and comfort in new situations
  • Ability to relate to prospective students from diverse environments
  • Commitment to liberal arts, church-related higher education
