Certified Medical Assistant-GYN (Full Time)
A medical assistant at a gynecology office provides support to the gynecologist and other healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Their job responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with patient intake: Greeting patients, checking them in, and obtaining their medical history, including information related to gynecological concerns and previous pregnancies.
2. Preparing examination rooms: Ensuring that examination rooms are clean, stocked with necessary supplies, and equipment is in working order. This may involve setting up instruments and equipment for specific procedures.
3. Assisting during gynecological procedures: Providing support to the gynecologist during various procedures such as Pap smears, pelvic exams, Endometrial biopsies, and Colposcopies. This may involve handing instruments, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and assisting with patient positioning.
4. Performing basic diagnostic tests: Conducting routine tests such as measuring vital signs, collecting and preparing lab specimens (e.g., urine samples), and conducting pregnancy tests.
5. Administering injections and medications: Assisting with the administration of medications, including injections, as directed by the gynecologist.
6. Providing patient education: Explaining procedures, treatments, and medications to patients, addressing their questions and concerns, and offering guidance on topics such as contraception, menstrual cycle, and sexually transmitted infections.
7. Assisting with administrative tasks: Managing patient records, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and processing insurance claims.
8. Maintaining cleanliness and sterilization: Adhering to infection control protocols by properly cleaning and disinfecting examination rooms and sterilizing instruments.

Current BLS from the American Heart Association required.
