Job Description
The Senior Geological Advisor will report to the Manager of Digital Transformation in the Earth Data group, and will contribute to the continued growth of the business by:
- Providing expert advice to the team leadership, the business development team and sales teams working on products and projects
- Overseeing ongoing project work for geological products and studies to ensure quality
- Ensuring that geological products and studies continue to improve and innovate by working in new workflows, methodologies and technology into project scopes
- Providing client-facing technical sales support as needed
- Developing new projects and products aligned with gaps in the current offering or in response to market need
This position will ideally be based in Houston but will also consider Crawley/London or Llandudno.
Qualifications
Required:
- Academic background in Geoscience, or other related discipline; or related experience
- 15 years of integrated geoscience experience focused on exploration in the oil and gas sector
- Experience developing, assessing and/or communicating geological and petroleum systems concepts
- Excellent presentation and client communication skills
- Self-starter that is well organized, meticulous, intellectually curious and has an attention to detail
- Ability to adapt and change course in response to changing circumstances
- Advanced English language skills – read, write, and speak.
- Working knowledge of GIS and/or industry standard data platforms
- Experience or expertise in AI/ML implementation and/or data science.
- Experience working as a senior explorationist for an oil and gas company.
