What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor of Chiropractic position at Virtus Sport and Extremity?
General Summary:
As a Virtus doctor, you'll be responsible for the evaluation, ongoing assessment, treatment, and management of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions through the use of an evidence-based approach. You'll have responsibility for the daily management of your practice environment and supervision of designated support staff. In addition to providing manual therapy, you'll be responsible for the instruction of all therapeutic exercise protocols, application of modalities and functional taping utilizing the Virtus treatment model while maintaining creative freedom and versatility as an individual clinician.

Essential Functions:
Administrative Responsibilities
Arrive 30 minutes before office hours
Review the daily collections sheet and patient schedule with team
Ensure pre-authorizations are complete
Review charts and paperwork for new patients
Discuss any other additional needs of patients (i.e. patient is in a wheel-chair, has billing questions, has acute low back pain and cannot sit, etc.)
Ensure the team is ready to accommodate any special circumstances and optimize patient experience and simplicity
Discuss each patient with corresponding rehabilitation specialist: exercise regressions, progressions, or modifications that you may see in the visit that day
Enter charges and diagnoses before leaving the bay to welcome the next patient
Complete chart notes before leaving the office
Ensure the team does not need anything else from you prior to leaving the office, say goodbye and praise your team's effort.
Patient Care Responsibilities
Consult with patient about his/her medical history, injury history, reason for visit, and future recovery goals
Thoroughly assess patients movement and abnormal/compensatory posture or patterns, administer pain provoking tests, perform appropriate orthopedics, identify or rule out all red and yellow flags, and cluster all findings into an accurate diagnosis
Educate the patient on the determined diagnosis and be sure they have a full understanding of their own injury/complaint prior to performing any clinical treatment
Devise a care plan that focuses on best outcomes for patient and aligns with patient goals simultaneously
Perform manual therapy as clinically indicated such as: MRT, ART, IASTM, cupping, stripping, stretching, CMT, or corrective exercises
Provide outlets to supplemental treatment if necessary such as massage, nutrition, acupuncture, or referral to alternative specialist
Ensure that you have provided all supplemental information to the patient, answered all the patient’s questions regarding the care plan and that the patient is highly satisfied with the care provided before leaving the office.
Personally walk patient to our rehabilitation specialist to instill patient confidence and personify a cohesive plan of action.
Communicate to the patient-care coordinator when you would like them rescheduled prior to returning to your bay or addressing the next patient.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate of Chiropractic received from an accredited graduate program
Comfortable with a range of musculoskeletal injuries (acute/chronic,spinal/extraspinal)
Basic Life Support certified and up to date with credentials
Proficiency of basic computer software including Google Suite: email, docs, sheets, calendar
Ability to learn and use new software programs specific to healthcare
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Unique Schedule:
Our office hours are unique to meet our patient's needs and our team's work-life balance. In order to be considered for this full time position, you will need to be available 30 minutes before and after our office hours. In addition to office hours, there are weekly meetings scheduled to enhance communication and collaboration with our amazing team.
Monday – 7:30PM to 7:00PM
Tuesday – 7:30AM to 7:00PM
Wednesday – 7:30AM to 7:00PM
Thursday – 7:30PM to 7:00PM
Friday – 7:30AM to 1:00PM
