Job Description
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of our Enterprise Payments team to help design, enhance and build our transactional platform in an agile development environment. You will work with colleagues, who will support and challenge you daily. You will play part of multiple teams tasked with multiple projects ranging from building full stack development of real-time transactional services, REST services API, Container based services to highly functional, secure, scalable and resilient real time and batching systems. You will work on unit testing, code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA. You will see the code written and moved to production within just a few days, to then be used by a huge customer base including Facebook, Nike, FedEx, Apple, State Farm, to name a few.

Essential Functions:
- Works with product owners to refine business requirements
- Analyzes business requirements and architect a solution that is robust and scalable
- Provides technical documentation of solutions
- Breaks down architected solution into smaller, achievable tasks
- Presents and communicates solution to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Knowledgeable of data technologies and solutions
- Work with full stack development - back end, middle tier, and client side
- Debugging and providing solutions for complicated issues
- Participate in demos and code reviews
- Multi-task and support multiple teams
- Enforce software best practices, standards, and processes
- Review requirement documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness or to mitigate risks
- Lead design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
- Lead code reviews with team members and third party vendors
- Lead engineers to identify appropriate technologies
- Lead engineers to design new functionality or refactor existing functionality
- Work independently to implement new functionality, automated tests, and refactor code
- Work across the team to ensure the team is predictable, productive, and delivering high quality
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- You have expertise of Core Java, JEE technologies, REST and container-based technologies.
- You have experience in application development frameworks like Vert.x, Spring etc and have knowledge of Asynchronous programming.
- Understand the Security requirements and standards, and contemporary trends in Security risks as well as technologies.
- Experience in security domain with authentication, authorization and building secure gateway.
- You have experience architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind
