What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate position at Viterbi School of Engineering?
The research group of Prof. Quntao Zhuang at the University of Southern California invites applicants for one postdoctoral position in the general area of quantum sensing, communication and information processing. The position focuses on theory but can potentially collaborate with experiments closely. The detailed topics can be, but not limited to, quantum transduction system design, quantum error correction in continuous-variable systems, variational quantum information processing in cavity-QED systems, quantum networking and entanglement-assisted sensing and communication. The applicant should have background in at least one of the following: quantum information science, quantum optics, quantum many-body systems.
This position is a full-time one-year appointment, with the option of renewal for a second year by mutual agreement. The earliest start date is September 1, 2022.
The annual base salary range for this position is $65,500 - $72,200. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
