Description
The Research Associate in Analytical Research and Development on the Product Research and Development (PRD) team will work closely with Analytical Scientists to perform analytical methods to characterize APIs within ALTA® products and in-process materials. The Research Associate will routinely apply chromatographic, spectroscopic, and other biochemical methods to ALTA® products which contain dilute antigens and insoluble ALD coatings. This role reports to a Scientist within the Analytical team and will work with a team of scientists and research associates for training and study execution.
This is a full-time position, located in Boulder, Colorado.

Salary and Benefits

RA I: BS in an academic program aligned with VitriVax needs – range $60,000 - $75,000
RA II – BS 2 years industry experience – range $75,000 - $100,000

Description

Responsibilities And Duties
- Learns and performs established procedures and methods, documents research activities, and reports results in a timely manner.
- Performs routine testing to support development and stability testing of ALTA® products.
- Successfully balances working collaboratively and independently with the analytical team to support development of new methods
- Maintains equipment and ensures that methods and equipment are fit-for-purpose.
- Maintains laboratory notebook and equipment logs consistent with policies.
- Clearly communicates and collaborates within PRD and across departments to investigate processes and products.
- Takes the initiative to search published literature to learn, identify promising technologies, and creatively address challenges
- Adheres to Company policies and safety guidelines
- Must be able to perform the responsibilities and duties listed above
- This is an entry level position; Individuals must have the academic background, basic lab skills, and capability to perform the responsibilities and duties listed above and be willing to learn
- A Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline is preferred.
- Experience working with biological materials (i.e. protein, peptides, DNA, RNA, etc), and/or lipids is preferred
- Analytical training in chromatography, nanoparticle sizing, electrophoresis, etc. is preferred
- Experience with a range of basic plate-based assays (i.e. Ribogreen, ELISA, BCA) beneficial
- Proficient in the use of statistical analysis methods and standard office tools like Excel and Word.
