VGS is a highly acclaimed, successful, private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency with over 130 years of dedicated experience serving persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. We are currently seeking to hire a Human Resources Coordinator that will be responsible for performing the following job duties.
Responsible for performing human resources activities including pre-hire onboarding, unemployment, compliance with federal programs including AbilityOne and Medicaid, and handling employee relation issues by performing the following duties.
- Make job offers to new hires and ensure that all required paperwork is complete.

Complete all pre-hire onboarding responsibilities to include processing background checks, Medicaid database checks, coordinate drug testing, IT equipment is requested and set up, communication with new hire prior to start date, etc.

Process E-Verify checks for federal employees.

Process invoices for background checks, drug tests, etc.

Participate in resolving employee relation issues including disciplinary issues, violating policies and procedures, and investigating complaints and grievances.

Personnel issues, and maintains current personnel information and records.

Coordinate the annual review process for hourly employees and ensure that each review has been completed and meets standards.

Perform case management of Unemployment claims. Gather all necessary data and documentation and meet all response deadlines. Coordinate unemployment hearings.

During times of increased hiring, assist with recruitment and interviewing responsibilities.

Prepare specialty reports, surveys and audits as requested by staff.

Take on special projects as requested.

Assist other department staff as needed.

Chair of the PRIDE Employee Engagement Committee.

Assist with department filing and mailings as needed.

Regular attendance.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, consumers, co-workers and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with HRIS, Paycom preferred.
- Knowledge of employment law, procedures, and practices.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to work under pressure and meet work deadlines.
